JOB DESCRIPTION
Position:  Assistant Director for the Phillips Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC)
Reports to:  PACC Executive Director

Job Overview:  The Assistant Director works with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to support the Chamber’s initiatives and events. Establish good relationships with members and Board of Directors. Assist with planning and executing activities that promote the business community. The Assistant Director works with the Executive Director to fulfill all Chamber activities, i.e., marketing and social media, event planning, financial management, promotional activities, and maintenance of the Chamber office. The Assistant Director is required to attend all PACC board meetings and events, which frequently take place evenings and weekends.

This is a part-time position, 21 hours per week (typically three seven-hour days per week, 9 am-4 pm on weekdays).

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Build Relationships with existing and potential members
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of chamber events
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining the PACC office with literature, etc.
  • Responsible for marketing for events and other Chamber activities (television and radio promotions, create newspaper articles and advertisements)
  • Responsible for maintaining Chamber’s website and social media
  • Greet visitors and reply to visitors’ requests for information
  • Solicit memberships with new and existing businesses
  • Assist with preparations for Board of Directors meetings
  • Assist with maintaining financial records; A/R & A/P; bank deposits and reconciliations
 Qualifications
  • Associate degree in an applicable field such as marketing, communication, human resources, accounting or equivalent experience (Preferred)
  • Customer service experience
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in creating and/or executing large and small events
  • Basic bookkeeping skills
  • Social media skills
  • Computer skills (basic programs and website)
  • Reliable transportation
The Assistant Director must be able to create good relationships with members, reaching out to find ways for the Chamber to help members be successful.  The Assistant Director is a team player who is organized, efficient, creative, and innovative.
